John M. Guisto, III
John M. Guisto, III - Assistant Teaching Professional
John’s father introduced John to golf at the age of 9 and his passion for the game continued to grow throughout his life. He played on the Cameron County High School Golf Team and began to visualize spending his career involved in the game.
Upon graduating high school, he enrolled at the Golf Academy of America in 2007. While at the Golf Academy John took classes such as Advanced Teaching, Fundamentals of Golf, Rules of Golf, History of Golf, and Sports Psychology. John had special training teaching junior and beginner golfers. The Golf Academy of America has arrangements with youth camps and senior homes to teach group and individual lessons. This exposure to golf instruction, and the passion in which he felt to do it, is what led John to pursue a career in teaching the game of golf. He received an Associate of Applied Business Degree in Golf Complex Operations and Management in April 2009. After graduating in the spring of 2009, he relocated to the Northern Virginia area to share his knowledge and begin his career in the golf industry.
John’s relocation and past history of playing Montclair CC, led to meeting Vince Natale, Owner and Director of Instruction of Powerline Golf Academy. The timing couldn’t have been better … John’s experience and training with junior and beginner golfers make him the perfect addition to our staff as we strive to continue as the leader in teaching and technology in Prince William County.
